i know everyone just looooves house party (does anyone actually love house party?). but in my opinion, it was class act that took kid n’ play from zeroes to heroes. oh i just love this goddamn movie.

these days, kid is just trying to make an honest buck, appearing anywhere he can, like in suit commercials. clearly he’s doing well.

blade brown (christopher ‘play’ martin)
blade wears glasses now and looks like a preacher. so he might be one, he prays a lot.

duncan’s dad (meshach taylor)
hollywood from mannequin has been married for 27 years (to a woman) and co-hosted living live! on retirement living tv with florence henderson. now that is cool.

duncan’s mom (mariann aalda)
mrs. pinderhughes is not only still trying to act, she is now a performance coach, a wellness practitioner, and a stand up comic. ladies and gentleman, this woman does it all.

blade’s mom (loretta devine)
after gaining some weight and becoming the lovable sassy black woman we ALL love, loretta did pretty well with her career! she’s in a ton of shit, some of which you may even own.

parole officer reichert (rick ducommun)
being one of my favorite actors for having the raddest resume of almost anyone, i tried really really hard to find rick these days. hard being i wrote a message to his son on facebook but he didn’t respond. this is rick in 2004. the most recent i could find. he lives in canada because he’s canadian.

popsicle (doug e. doug)
our favorite wise-crackin sidekick did a voice in shark tale back in 04… that’s about it. he made this hilarious video about calling his agent and his agent doesn’t know who he is (get it? because he’s a loser now or something) still love him so much. (he looks better in this after pic than he does in the video)

seems like there’s an ongoing theme that no one in this movie has given up show business. so lamont has his incredible acting reel here. and if you’re a wedge fan, or like, a jay-z fan, you might as well watch it. it’s only a 10 minute reel.

damita has a kid now i think and may have been a soul train dancer at one point, appearing in many music videos that i can’t seem to spot her in but she’s apparently in them. well here’s one she was in, nobody but you by david black. she looks nice these days but she has given up acting it seems. and some guy that saw her said on imdb “she is fine!!! no jail!! no hooters!! looks even better now!!!” so that’s good.

ellen (karyn parsons)
hilary is looking a bit older these days, living in new york with her family and producing animated films about black heroes like a slave that mailed himself to freedom. ok.

principal kratz (raye birk)
raye birk is busy submitting his own biography to imdb (HAHA!) and either teaching theatre at usc or living in saint paul, minnesota. one of those.

mink (thomas mikal ford)
mink, the funniest cast member from martin, acts a bit here and there and has a son whom he visits tigers with. my question is… why wasn’t he in boomerang, amiright?

fruity (regiald ballard)
after i was “jus chillin with reginald” on reginald’s official website just chillin with reginald ballard, i learned that he’s doing comedy and acting these days, but unfortunately for all of us, he has no upcoming events posted. no wait, i found his facebook and no he tours the shit out of touring, most recently in atlanta. go fruity!

go-go (david basulto)
david now produces movies and is an internet marketer. so if you want to buy some domains from him, he’s totally got them.

still acting, tommy now plays father ray santos on guiding light. ooooie.

coach definitely has the best website of anyone from the film. from there i learned that he is a “musician, an actor, a singer/songwriter, a painter, a sculptor, and a walking stick craftsman. he’s not very good with automobiles, but has done some construction work in his travels and is basically pretty handy around the house.”

ivory ocean has the best name of the bunch and considers himself to be quite the independent entertainment professional according to his linkedin page.

one time i saw her out driving with husband danny devito at like 4am. it was on franklin and ivar. i think she only got this part because she’s the cousin of the director. she was on hung. and hey, who didn’t love sunset park?

known for playing the bouncer and the security guard in many critically acclaimed films, andre passed away in 2006. :( his last role was “burly man” in an episode of my wife and kids.

who would have ever imagined that st. peters student jodi would be probably the most successful now?! i think she’s either the wife or best friend of the director randall miller, and since they wrote outstanding songs for the movie houseguest such as “ha ha in the house” and “funky dog rap”, they went to make TWO SUCCESSFUL MOVIES FEATURING ALAN RICKMAN! bottle shock and nobel son. good going you guys!
